Getting the MPRN/MPAN registered?
Hello, please be gentle, it's my first post and looking for some advice!
I moved into a new build house a little over three years ago now. The supplier when we moved in was EON and shortly after moving in, I got the energy (gas and electric) moved over to Scottish Power. I remember at the time having issues with the handover of energy as SP kept telling me the MPRN and MPAN numbers didn't match the property address. After a bit of back and forth, a young lass in customer services with a bit of intelligence got to the bottom of it and said the meter numbers had been registered to the plot number, not the house number. The energy got switched and everything was lovely in the end.
Fast forward 2 years and I now want to switch again and low and behold, the new suppliers are complaining the meter numbers don't match the address. Trying to fix this permanently, I did a bit of research. I rang the National Grid direct and asked how to register the correct meter numbers. They told me only the current energy supplier can do that. Rang SP who eventually assured me they had started a 'trace and label' to get the numbers registered to the database. This was several weeks ago now and periodically I try and re-complete the switchover but still get the 'numbers don't match address' problem.
Does anyone else have experience with this sort of issue? SP advised it can take a long time ('10 working days') to get the numbers registered but every time I speak to them they really don't fill me with confidence that anything is progressing. Are there any contact details with whoever controls this meter database that I can use to talk to someone to speed things along? It's been well over three weeks now.
Any advice gratefully received!
Thanks.

Hi Canon there is a national database that holds all properties mpan/mpr numbers.
Try calling 0845 6014516, if this is not your correct regional office they will direct you to the right one.0
