I've been given an 0783 number to call. What are they and how much do they cost to call? Is it just a mobile number or some higher rate?

Yes it's a mobile number. Mobile numbers start 077 078 or 079.0

From a BT landline, the MSE UK CallChecker shows the cheapest way to call UK mobile numbers such as this appears to be is via 18185 - 5p connection and 6p/minute during the week (3p/minute at weekends).I've been given an 0783 number to call. What are they and how much do they cost to call? Is it just a mobile number or some higher rate?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
