Switch savings acc to a current acc

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of switching a savings acc. to a current acc?

eg. if switching to santander 123, you need to enter a 16digit card number.. can that be a savings acc. card?

No one will have any experience, because it can't be done

The 'switching' process applies to current accounts only.

I wasn't sure whether the new bank would actually be able to tell.

All they get given is an account no., sort code and a card number.

That's all they get given by you. They get given a lot more by the old bank. According to the Payments Council's FAQ:

The Current Account Switch Service is for current accounts only. This includes personal, small business and charity current accounts.
