Bathroom quotes

We need to replace our bathroom suite and shower and would like the whole room tiled (including floor) - the room is approx.1.5m x 1.5m

We're not moving the bath or toilet positions etc , so there's no extra work there.

So far we have received two quotes just for labour of £3,100.00 and £2,495.00 (and this guy said it would take at least 8 days !)

To me , this seems extortionate...but am I under-estimating the work involved ? (we're in Southend area - Essex)

There is not enough detail to give even a rough price for your work.It would suggest from your two quotes that they both think that's what the job is worth.
Perhaps a more detailed list of works and the type of sanitaryware you are having would generate more responses.

My bathroom is around 2 x 3, less tiling, but more moving of bits and I'm getting quotes of around £4000....

I had my bathroom done recently. The old suite was removed, one wall of tiles removed and retiled and the new suite with vanity unit fitted. We did not have a shower fitted.
We paid for all materials and a labour charge of £480. The next cheapest quote we got was double that!
