Hey everybody,
I have found a lot about gym memberships and, that it is hart do cancel them I am not yet a member but as I might be moving within 9-10 months I was wondering, that there actually must be some ecceptions to cancel a gym membershp such as movin abroad perhaps.
I would apreciate a link where I could figure it out myself maybe somebody has been through this hell..

I would this this would vary with which gym you went with. I joined David Lloyds and it mentions it would let you cancel if you received a P45 (when you leave your job you get one) or Doctors notes.
David Lloyds is also only a 3 month contract, I intend to cancel every three months so it is an ongoing cancellation. If I wanna stay I just cancel the cancellation lol
L A Fitness is a 12 month contract and even then they make it difficult to cancel as in my brothers case anywayHelp me to help you :santa2:0 -
They are all different, and it depends on whether you have to sign a 12 month contract or not. Some are only 3 or 6 months, others are month to month with no commitment.
Generally if you sign a 12 month contract then you will be held to it. Some do allow you to cancel if you move, but they are more likely to suggest you change to another of their gyms closer to where you are moving too.
All you can do is ask; if they say yes you can cancel get them to write it across the bottom of your membership agreement (you will get a copy of this) so that when the time comes, you have some back up. Gym membership sales often have a very high staff turnover, so it is likely that the person who sold you the membership will have left by the time you want to cancel.
Which company are you thinking of joining? I may be able to tell you a bit more about their membership contract.0
