Is my credit file being hacked?

Responding to an alert from Equifax, I found that a change had been posted to an expired credit agreement Is it possible that someone can spoof "BT CONSUMER" to access my credit file? BT deny that it was them. Or am I wrong to suspect conspiracy?

    It's probably just them doing annual updates on accounts, even if it has expired they still have to keep it updated in case you had missed payments etc. Don't worry about it.
    Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

    ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.
