New kitchen ... Crown imperial, benchmarx etc

hi everyone, looking for a kitchen and have done some research. Want a contemporary look. Like rotpunkt, but prob too pricey, looked at howdens but dont like edging of gloss doors. seen crown imperial and look nice but have had a quote for 6.5 k just for cabinets. This includes 2 300 base units, 1 corner base, sink unit, dishwasher panel, 900 drawer unit, 2 larder units of 300 mm (to fit around American style fridge freezer) and tall oven housing unit. Plus 1200 mm drawer unit for island.... Plus 4 wall units.
Now thinking of trying benchmarx as friend has just had a quote of 8k for around double the units I have quoted.
how do benchmarx compare to crown Imperial ...
I know there is a difference between gloss doors, some being vinyl wrapped, some lacquered etc ....
Would really like a mix of gloss and Matt doors, but don't think Benchmarx do this, with Crown imperial you can mix and match a couple of ranges ...
Any help and advice welcomed.

Well post number 90 here .. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2978264
Says dont buy a benchmarx one.
But post 91 says they had the opposite experience..
Personally Crown.. But a good fitter can do a better job with a cheap kitchen than a rubbish fitter and a more expensive one.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Crown are prbably slightly better.
Youwill e able to mix and match with Benchmarx too0 -
Thanks all. Ooh, if crown only 'slightly better' might look closely at benchmarx then.
Seen a few recommend diy kitchens .... Are they better quality than crown, benchmarx?0 -
Really want the proper handle less (not the j type) .... Like mereway as seen in JL but expensive.....
Do diy do the true handle less does anyone know and is qual as good /better than mereway?0 -
If you want a proper handleless kitchen you really need to be considering a German kitchen. English manufacturers just cant cut it with handleless.
I am sure you will find it with certain German makes who do very well priced handleless units. Rot Punkt isnt one of them. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I am almost certain that DIY will be not the same as Mereway. Not at those prices. Nowhere near those prices. Mereway make the best larger market British Kitchens (in my mind) and are a clear mile than Benchmarx etc. better than that would be 'spensive German.
Clear mile better but that doesn't mean the others are rubbish. I'd put Mereway in my 'forever' bracket but I don't want a forever kitchen. I have had one and it was clear favourite, I just wouldn't be concerned paying full price for them.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks again all. Doozergirl , I know that you can buy mereway on Internet, do you consider mereway better than crown ... It might price up similar if I buy that way as that was my first choice ... It will need to last 10 plus years so looking for quality ...
Ryder 72 .... What german makes would you recommend; can you pm me? ..0 -
