How do i tell if CC are closed - annualcreditreport.co.uk

Hi
I've just checked my credit rating on annualcreditreport.co.uk
However, I thought i had cancelled some of the cards but they still appear

I guess this is down to the history always appearing, i know you can ask them to clear anything after the last 7 years, but thats a different topic

how can i tell which cards are still active?

Cheers

...and a different timescale ('settled' accounts fall off after 6 years).

They will not be shown as 'settled'.

    Thanks
It doesn't say anything about being "settled"

    Just says current balance: 0

annualcreditreport only search your CallCredit file, ie they do not search your Experian or Equifax files. So, what you're seeing is only that information which CallCredit holds on you.

I've no experience with CallCredit, but a settled account on Experian is marked "settled on xx/xx/xx", and a settled account on Equifax is marked "S0000000.....00U", where the 'S' means settled and 'U' means the account was unused or only just set up and so nothing was reported that month.

If I was you, I wouldn't bother with annualcreditreport (or checkmyfile). Instead, you'll get a far more accurate picture of your credit history by sending for your £2 statutory reports from Experian and Equifax.

Note the lack of end date.

Note that the data they provide is updated only once a year - do not expect to close a card, and expect annualcreditreport to show the updated status any time soon
