Best PS4 games for women

I hate putting myself in that "woman" box but i have noticed when it comes to video games i really dont have the same interest as men.

i have just got my PS4 :j:j:j:j:j but it has gathered dust since yesterday :rotfl:and i am very excited to start playing some games on it, seeking expert advice from my fellow MSE on which games might be good for me to buy.

i like games with story lines so not really into COD, Halo, gears of war. i dont like sports games so FIFA, PRO EVO, NFL, NHL are out.

i did enjoy need for speed most wanted years back when i had a ps2 but not sure if the new one is any good.

i was reading up on the last of us and heard some good reviews, what does everyone think?

maybe assassins creed? is that any good or is it overrated?

i played GTA V but didnt finish it i thought it was quite boring.

any reviews or help is most welcome at this point.

  • The Last of Us should probably be top of your list.

If you like Marvel comics or the new Marvel movies, LEGO Marvel is definitely worth a look. It's absolutely gorgeous on PC, so I imagine it should look good on PS4 as well. It has co-op multiplayer, too.

Have you played Tomb Raider? The PS4 version apparently looks great, despite the variable frame rate. I went into it not expecting too much, but it really did tick a lot of my boxes. Think Summer Blockbuster rather than narrative gem or challenging puzzle/platformer.

The only fly in the Home-Brand MSE Ointment is the cost of these games. £23 is apparently an excellent price for LEGO Marvel on PS4 and £22 is the best price for Tomb Raider. They've both been £3.75 for the superior PC versions many, many times in the past! And good luck getting The Last of Us Remastered for less than £30.

There's also Transistor, which is new and I haven't played, but is on my radar. I'm purposely avoiding details as I'm waiting for a sale price, but the general feeling seems to be that it's good! Research it yourself! :p

Those would be my top suggestions, but you could look at Assassin's Creed IV or Watch Dogs (but not both, as they are too similar) - see which setting interests you more. Both are quite good games, although ACIV seems to score higher than Watch Dogs with the media and users alike.

I've tailored these for what you've said you like, rather than for "women", as I'm not sure that's relevant. Based on the charts, I often don't seem to have the same tastes as "men" either. :D

Yep, I'd say The Last of Us Remastered as well. Has a fantastic story.

Some decent puzzler type games on ps+, with the advantage if you have your subscription they are free! new games get released each month.

At the moment they are indie type games, Fez is meant to be quite decent but not got around to it yet as been playing the last of us.

At least if you don't like them you can delete them and it hasn't cost you anything.

Last of Us is a brilliant shout, not overly "girly" but definately has a storyline you can invest yourself in as opposed to "if it moves, shoot it!". Assassins Creed should be good as well, I haven't played Black Flag yet but have spent too many hours on the other games and they've always been tempting & interesting with a pretty immersive storyline. Another one which might be worth a look into would be Child of Light, I've seen it advertised around and it's relatively cheap (around £18), more a role playing type thing so think Final Fantasy style.

Avoid Watch_Dogs, it pains me to say that as I was really excited about it, but in reality it falls way short of expectations, the driving is dire, the gameplay feels "clunky" and it's short. It's hideously frustrating with instant fail missions aplenty & feels very much like it's been rushed, while I wouldn't discount the storyline which is in itself alright, it just feels like it would have benefited from another year in development.

Might even be worthwhile checking out PSN - you should have Playstation Plus so there will be some freebies you can have a crack at.

I have AC:BF and find the story same-y and repetetive.
  • In a world where women make up a third of the gamer market, there really are not many games that are targeted towards females. Perhaps due to the developers of games being dominated by males.

I'm currently in the process of trying to get my partner to play some video games, but she responds with "they're all about killing" which they are largely. However there are some great story driven games out there, which I consider to be as good as any book or movie...So try the Mass Effect series, or Dragon Age series both from Bioware as some great story driven games.

    You know what I mean!

Although, with the free games, the sub should pretty much pay for itself. At least, it did when I had PS3, lack of games for the PS4 at the mo but hopefully we should see some better PS+ titles soon.

Whatchdog is supposed to be very good - not sure if it appleals to you though?

Have you tried the Final Fantesy style gameplay? Seems very popular with many girl gamers?

It is sterotypical but gamers tend to be male, which is a little unpc as such for the girls that like it aswell.
