0% on Purchases and Fuel discount - any exisit?

Hi
I'm ideally after a card that will give me money off fuel
We have an asda one but you have to pay that off in full that month, other wise its 1 billion % interest

Is there any out there that gives me money off fuel and is 0% for 10 months or similar?

Barclaycard have a flexi rate card at the monent with cashback go to www.barclays.co.uk and select credit cards.

Careful it is only 1.5% (also on supermarket foods and 0.5% on everything else) but it is automatically taken from your monthly balance. The apr is ok, but nor great at 9.9% if you pay more thsan 10% off I think.

I also think that this one has 0% for 3 months on purchases...

I don't think there is a credit card that gives money off fuel as such. You can get cashback credit cards such as Capital One or EGG that will give you money back when you buy goods (inc. fuel).

Your alternative is to get something like the Shell Drivers Club card. This is not a credit card but a loyalty scheme card. You get points, and after a certain amount of points you get a £10 fuel voucher. Only useful if there is a Shell near you, of course!

There is the Barclaycard Flexi Rate, which specifically gives you an enhanced rate of cashback for fuel and supermerket food (see my post Barclaycard cashback card is back...be careful though)

The most efficient method of course is to combine the two, pay with your cashback credit card, and also use a rewards card. The best out there if you are only going to use the rewards for more petrol is Morrisons Miles card, paying the equivalent of 1.5p per pound. However Tesco pay 1 point for every pound, however if you convert these into deals, it works out as 4p every pound. So if you use Tesco + Barclaycard you will get=

For every pound= 1.5p (cashback)--- 4p (deals vouchers)


The only other thing you can do to get the money off is if you are self employed. Then you can offsett these expenses against tax, and then if you are VAT registered you can get 17.5% off also.

Citi now do a Shell card with 1% cashback and 3% cashback on petrol at Shell. You can use your V power card as well so about 4p/litre off
