Your advise is of tremendous help thank you HBO.
The reduction is solely down to reducing hours for weeks I'm at college. So low until june 2015 except for about 5 week's over this time for half terms etc.
if I was to now instead become limited and pay me the money using paye (not solely for HB purposes but also nic related benefits) then would they go off my now new payslips as company director or would they still look at my self employed income prior to directorship?
sorry if this looks like I'm trying to play the system, I guess I kinda am, but its gonna be a tight year whilst I better myself career wise so any extra support would go a long way0 -

Any self employed accounts you provide would then be unrepresentative. Your self employed earnings have changed so this would be a justifiable reason to take a projection of your self employed income and have the Housing Benefit Office review them every 13 weeks. This is what I would do. However they might treat your self employed income differently - you will need to speak to someone at your local office and explain the circumstances and what they will need. I would think it would be unreasonable to use your last full years self employed income as the nature and scope of your self employment has changed due to a reduction in hours. The regulations allow us to ignore last years self employed accounts and use a projection instead. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
