How do you manage your accounts

Thanks to the invaluable advice on here, im currently in the position of managing 15 current accounts. Most are now set so the only thing required is extracting interest but it would be nice to keep an eye on everything in an easy manner.

Being a bit old school I have a little folder with everything in but am wondering if anyone uses anyone online sites or sticks with some kind of PC programme that they would recommend.

MS Money for me too, with the file stashed in an encrypted folder along with anything else I think is worth keeping - PDFs of annual statements, notes on the various accounts, access details if I'm ever hit by a bus (my wife knows the decryption password), and so on.

We earn more than we spend (99% of the time), so I don't bother with a budget so to speak, but it's nice to see where the money goes all the same.

I use GNU Cash, partly because I wanted something cross-platform. Like irm, I store the database within an encrypted folder. To be honest, I've grown quite lazy with all my high interest / freebie generating current accounts, so I've set up a set of scheduled transactions in GNU Cash to cover the usual monthly money cycling and only occasionally check these against my statements.

I've used Quicken for many a year and would be lost without it. Unfortunately it not sold or supported in the UK anymore which is a great shame.

Been using Excel since 1998 to track expenditure and various account balances. There are probably simpler ways to do it, but mine is over complicated and time consuming (although it is my favourite 'waste' of time).

Another vote for Quicken here. I couldn't manage without it.

I don't 'do' the numerous current accounts but I do have quite a few savings, bonds & ISAs to keep track of.

MS Money for us, tried loads of others but none are as good. It was a real shame that Microsoft ditched the program but at least my 2003 copy runs okay in Windows 7.

Two free versions that I have bookmarked in case I need them -

    (UK Version) http://money.mvps.org/downloads/files/2005/Money2005-UK-QFE2.exe

    (US Version) http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=20738
