CPP vs Natwest Advantage Gold

Hi everyone
So I'm a bit late to the party but I'm not sure what's going on here:
I had charges on my NW Advantage Gold account from at least 2002 - 2012. Again, I was under the impression I needed to pay for this 'grown up' account and have a credit card etc. so I thought this would be my CPP claim.
So I phoned up the CPP as I don't have the letter (haven't been in the UK for 16 months) and explained the situation as I thought Natwest had mis-sold me. However, they said it's nothing to do with Natwest and that I have a possible claim on another store card (which I couldn't confirm as I don't remember having any store card). They are sending me a claim form anyway.
So for starters: I know I have a mystery CPP claim on a store card.
Anyway, I phoned up Natwest and explained the situation and they said it was one for the complaints department about the charges on the account and they'd get back to me.
My question is then twofold: Am I right in thinking I have 2 possible claims here? One from CPP and one from Natwest?
And if so, what on earth should I say to Natwest re that awful Advantage Gold account to try to make sure I claim all those charges back?!?
Any help much appreciated!
