I would be sending them a letter before action asking for a refund of 7/12 of the ticket price (as you will have had 5 months use until end of August).

If you were not informed when renewing ticket and can prove you were told otherwise, then you should be given a refund.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

  • It is extremely discourteous to delete an opening post after people have given up their time replying to it.
In case anyone is interested in what the original question was.

I am just after a bit of advice, I like to go fishing in my spare time and I feel i have been cheated by a lake owner...

I am a member of a angling syndicate, being a member of the syndicate allows you access to fish one lake containing approx 90 fish for a twelve month period from April through to March.
The syndicate is ran by the lake owner and a years membership costs £375.00.

In August this year I was informed via another member that the lake owner was to close the lake in September, partially drain it and remove 40 of the fish, to allow the others to grow on. All the other members were aware of the work yet the owner had failed to tell me. The lake owner has since confirmed
    that this will go ahead.

Prior to my purchase of the ticket I was informed that the above work was due to go ahead but that it would not take place until October 2015 (I still have a text message confirming this).

Had I known that the stock would be reduced for this year I would not have bought the ticket for this year. I have now asked for a partial refund (ticket price divided by months remaining on the ticket), but the owner ridiculed my request.

Would the above situation be covered by the sale of goods and service act or another? I have read about sport and leisure activities being exempt. Can anyone tell me what my rights are?

I think this is the first time I've seen someone delete a post when the reply was actually what they probably want to hear.

Yes I was thinking the same, couldnt see a reason why it needed to be deleted.
