new meter question?
just bought my first home which was a mortgage repossession and the electric meter has been removed im guessing due to tampering from the previous residents.ive done a little looking around on the net and cant seem to find the answers to .who is responsible for the replacement of it?at the moment i dont have a supplier so i am guessing i sign up to whoever is the cheapest and contact them??? what sort of charges am i looking at for this??

zero charges for a new meter, and the original supplier is still in contract with the property and you are in a deemed contract with the current supplier. Supplier may want to see your paperwork to prove your status and will most likely be fitting a prepay meter which you can change with the usual credit checks. watch out also for tampered gas meter.
its not usual for RPU to leave bypassed meters without replacing it. I have seen many properties where the occupier has completely removed the meter and done a bypass. Are you sure that any illegal activity has been properly dealt with ?0 -
