Loved the photo of your DS with his new shoes.
My cousin is waiting on information from her support worker about getting shoes for her 1 yrs old. He's been diagnosed with spina bifida and Hydrocephalus. A few days after birth he had a tumour half his birth weight removed and a few days after that had his shunt put in place.
He can't support his lower body and when sported he stands on his tiptoes so needs special shoes to stop him from doing this, it won't help him stand but should mean his feet develop properly.
Considering this was the baby due to die at birth or shortly after he's doing great, he's a very happy little boy, always laughing and has just started to learn to talk. He laughs at himself trying to copy everyone, such a ray of sunshine to us all.
We're very lucky to have him, his first birthday was a very emotional day for us all.
Make sure she finds a support group as people with older kids know so much more than she will about how to get support and help and how to fill out all the paperwork:eek:
It's taken me a while to get used to all that you can claim but remember every bit of help make hers and his life better:)
Mrsnerf loves getting in the cinema free as ds3 helper:rotfl::rotfl:
