The saving caused by trigger is usually much greater than the 10%.

A trigger is an item which is not picked up on the APG which causes the APG to miss multi-buy prices.

For example you buy 3 different shampoos at 3 for £10. One is a trigger item and is not picked up by the APG because it's not yet in their system.

The APG thinks you paid full price for the other two shampoos (for example, £7), not the multibuy price of £3.33 (in the case of 3 for £10).

Therefore the full price is compared to other supermarkets, not the price you paid. This means you can achieve favourable APG results.

    HTH

Now it makes so much more sense! I like to save, but I did not understand why 10% on small items would be so exciting when you factor in petrol costs and time. I get this now. Thank you. I hope I can make valuable contributions to your forum as I get to grips with it. X

From that same receipt dated 30/08 this is an interesting one to get in sainsbobs

    1 x Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Razor £4.50 £14.00

that and 9 own brands fillers and you should in theory get a £9.50 BM - might be of use if you have a conditional spend for a £20 shop - £6 of non branded things you need plus the razor

I 'm sure an explanation of triggers was given yesterday (or day before)

Searching for "Trigger" should be easy enough to help you find it

I tend to do this every two months (sadly)

My car insurance allows me to do 50,000 miles per annum, and I have to keep my eye on that to make sure I keep under it… I occasionally use OH car just to bump his miles up x
