pleased you got your greenhouse home qoc shame that you have to cut it down but i am sure it will be brilliant when done..

my shopping arrived driver asked if store phoned me this morning as they knew he was going to be late as he was doing 2 runs as someone has lost the keys to the other van, but no one phoned me.
barbucue ribs swapped with spicy chicken, so that went back,
large bottle of gaviscon broke and everything else was covered in it:eek:
driver was very apologetic I just laughed no point in getting upset by it ,,

After eating the BBQ, they won't be coughing!

Im with them too and halifax, tesco and tsp lol. Thinking of switching our main banking to one of them but OH wants to stay with NW . Scared of change. We been with them 35 years

That's why I stay with Santander been with them since school when they where Abbey National I left school 40 years ago

Was also with William and Glyns who is now Royal Bank of Scotland but didn't need 2 bank accounts so shut that one.

I am also scared of change so will stick with Santander. The only trouble I have with them was when someone from carphonewarehouse used my card details to buy stuff from the internet  after I bought a phone of them. Fraud squad soon sorted it and I got my money back :T

  • Thanks for all your support peeps, I appreciate it :)
E1971, (((Hugs))) How difficult it must be for you. :( I know it doesn't make it better but I would imagine that as SS is spending the most time with his mum and family that he would see them as the 'right' ones and if anything negative has been said he would take it in. It's such a shame but I've seen many a child used in this way, punishment as it were, for the ex-oh. He's only 13 which is old enough to choose how to behave but he's young enough to be heavily influenced. And, kids being kids, I would imagine he sees time with your side of the family to be 'holiday' time so expecting treats etc is normal. (I'm not saying it's acceptable, just that I can see why he thinks that.)

As for your boys, is there any way you could see them on neutral ground? Maybe that would avoid the friction with oh but you'd still be able to have a relationship. Thankfully for me I'm not in this position but maybe there's someone else who has more ideas, so sorry if I'm not helpful. Just didn't want to read and run. :)
Littlebluebird thanks for this. I'll try to remember and understand what you've said. As someone on the autistic spectrum it's difficult for me to understand when people react to situations in a different way than I would react. A part of me always resented my mum for not staying with my dad and giving me the chance of a "normal family life". SSs mum and family believe that I stole her husband away but our family know that it was her behaviour that drove him away and then he met me. If we hadn't met through facebook he still would never have gone back to her. She broke the marriage up by cheating and therefore SS should blame her for his life changing because he's aware this happened, just like I blame my mum for my dad not being around. I must try to remember that not everyone is the same but it is difficult for me :o

It funny but I don't understand myself why I will forgive anything of my children and don't bear grudges for the bad they've done but I'm not forgiving with my mum. Perhaps its because I blame myself for their behaviour

Afternoon all, still in my pjs today, not like me but having a couldnt care less day

Evangaline, try not to be too hard on yourself and overthink things. Just being aware of how you feel towards SS shows that you care. OH is stepdad to my 2 eldest - he came on the scene when they were 6 and 9. different situation to yours but I can empathise with your struggles.

OH has always been amazing with his stepkids and I know he loves them to bits but I can see a difference in the way he was with the steps to the way he is with our 2 together. I have mentioned it before now and it upsets him that I feel there is a difference. He was always fair and caring with them but was big on "they have to learn to do things for themselves" but with our 2 he is over protective and is like a mini butler to them lol. The thing is - I get it and am not critisising when I say I can see a difference, I understand that it must have been difficult for him as well as for the kids.

As for Natwest Gocat  I seem to be getting charged every month when I never seemed to before. Looking for a good one to switch to but cant make up my mind which one. Halifax is looking like a possibility as they have a £100 switching bonus and the terms look good. We have been with NATWEST a fair while now so I am dithering (not like me )
