ive been thinking about my favourite allotment produce...and its a close call but freshly picked sweetcorn, straight home and in a pan of boiling water just about wins with me.Delicious aren't they
. My problem is going to be, what can I do with them all, my freezer is rammed now. Can't squeeze another morsel in there
Probably doesn't get over the 'lack of freezer space' issue (can't you rent out some space in a friend's freezer, in exchange for some fresh sweetcorn?:D), but how about .... Sweetcorn Griddlecakes (lovely weekend brunch treat), Sweetcorn Fritters (would probably keep in fridge for a while, either as mixture, or prepared into fritters with greaseproof paper between), Succotash (try it with parmesan, and try not to think of Sylvester the Cat exclaiming "thhhhufferin' thhhuccotash!"), or Pastel de Choclo (Sweetcorn Pie, from Chile, can be made as carnivorous or veggie) which I can really recommend:)'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

As soon as I saw Succotash, that image was in my mind before I read it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I've just eaten but omg you have made me feel a teeny bit puckish. Thanks Jelly for the ideas
Thankfully, it seems that they aren't all ready to pick at the moment which is great. However, chances are that in a day or two that could well change :cool:There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
