Your story moved me to tears hun, How someone thinks that is an acceptable way to behave towards another human being I will never know. The future has no limits for you and your babies. Enjoy it and be free x

Thanks bubbs and pacifica9, it was hard to write and I still cry when I read it back. It's on the dusty shelf in my memory where I store the crappiest bits of my life. I have it good now though - just finances to get sorted now :(

Snap-ant they will use anything to control her, hopefully she has the strength to see it through and not be manipulated by them

ITinyshoes it can be so hard to talk about - I used to feel so ashamed that I had let myself be treated that way :( I covered up for my ex so many times, I protected him from any repercussions. But I reached the point of no return like you, sadly many never get there. Hopefully snaps neighbour will be another to get away like us x

I never told my parents what went on, no family knew, and even to this day only few very close friends. Oh and now the Elite!

I never had any children with my ex, even though he wanted to start a family, so that made the final split much easier than for many. I let him divorce me and it was one of the reasons he used. By that point I didn't care what he said.......

I hope Snap's neighbour has the courage to stay strong. :A

I have never written down want I went through in my first marriage but there are so many similarities in your blog to my experience. :( I am sure your blog must have helped many strewth. :A

I met my ex when I was 15 and was with him for 7 years. I never had any marks on my face but like you on my arms and on my neck. I was often strangled probably within moments of passing out. He always seem to know just when to stop. :(

I have often hinted on here I didn't have a good first marriage and that is why the passport office asking for my first marriage certificate was such a big deal for me.

Snap I really hope your neighbour has reached the point of what I call no return, one day it happened for me like strewth, it is so easy for people not in abusive relationships to wonder why people do not just leave. It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, you can't comprehend someone can have such a hold you and like strewth make such empty promises. I was so naïve. :o

(((X))) Tinyshoes glad you are happy now :)

£3.50 on msm and £3.00 T, therefore C&C? Unfortunately 2 for £6 so each two you get takes away from you.

(((X))) strewth71 hope you are ok now.

Thanks Tweets, it took a long time to get where I am now, and I still have my insecurities from back then but hubby is brill - always has been.

It shocks me how many women this happens to, when it was happening to me I felt so alone and everyone else seemed to have "perfect" relationships...what happens behind closed doors sadly.
