I think, before I post a comp., I got floored earlier (not literally;):rotfl:) by a womble where they paid £10 or possibly even £11 too much for some 20 pack Stella (currently £15 each in A, they bought two, my price guide £10). But, not to worry, as they saved £10 vs T elsewhere:(.

Shop was packed with Munch Bunches and Frijjs.

In fact, I know I'm not speaking to the right audience,

If you going to buy Munch Bunches, Nestle Mousses and Frijjs in A, can you please buy them on a separate shop and take your receipt for that particular shop with you! Thank you very much!:rotfl:

Even at 50p, these seem quite dear.

As an antidote, I thought I'd remind you of this:

    Nestle Munch Bunches 50p
S/P Fromage Frais 42p (and then possibly 10% off that via vs T).

I've now also decided I will never buy the Milk Chocolate version of Nestle Mousses again, as S/P Chocolate Mousse 18p vs 17p (I think it is) T. For me, that is an adequate alternative of the same, even if slightly a bit less luxurous, but the over 30p difference - "the brand tax" - not worth it. The Mint version and the other ones may be different, as they are not available in S/P.

So - Nestle Milk Chocolate Mousse 50p
S/P Chocolate Mousse 18p (but watch how many of those you get, so that you don't get those even S/P too often and end up wasting money)

And as for Frijjs at 50p these days (I know I used to pay £1.25 for them four years ago:o:o), less said the better.

So, with me, probably be writing about them for hours!:rotfl:
Firstly, they did have a volume reduction to 471ml. I tend to think the 1L own brand versions vs £1s elsewhere (when they come on) work out better by volume.

These are, when they are 50p, very popular items! Someone will be able to answer this - Aau1?

Presumably, when they are at 50p, they are 'loss leader' items - people will get them on impulse and thus pay more on their shopping, or else if they are aware of the offer and go to the store in the first place, then often get caught into buying a lot more besides. Would they, even at 50p, still be making a profit for the store? Or are these loss leader items?

My view might well change on this:rotfl::rotfl: - if I become aware they are making a loss, I might be more inclined to go into stores and get them more frequently and, when there, buy only them and then leave the store entirely!:D

With us already having moved (against our better wishes) to the Wednesday collection, this does mean that the I Can't Believe Light 1Kg spread, that I posted only on Tuesday showing as working, now in theory goes back into danger territory again. It will probably still continue to work. The fact it has been picked up correctly before tends, in my view, to make it more likely that it will still work. However, as ever, there is no guarantee that it will do so and items can go on and off on different collections. It probably will work though...

    But...:rotfl:

I do better when I'm comparing vs standard prices than trying to get glitched prices.

So, I decided to go and throw even more money after bad, and did another M comp. shop.

And it did very well! The only 'loss' was 6.5p. The only item that returned N/A were the Lightly Salted Rice Cakes, which wasn't entirely unexpected. Perhaps I have taken a more lenient view on their comparability than the APG price collectors have. Although occasional other things surprise me (not in a bad way) a little by comparing when I think not. Or maybe this was the wrong price collection on which to buy this item:rotfl:.

The KM crumpets and A Oven Bottom Muffins picked up the A mbuy, as expected. I ignored what I wrote myself there but then this was to see if either of the items was picking up M pricing. All is safe and well!:):)

We had ran out of potatoes. And, with M offering no F&V voucher this week, and especially with Monday's A collection proving so dicey on mbuys, in a way, I waited till the dust settled hoping to ensure things went well. The Maris Piper Potatoes do work, and seem to be safe now until after the Bank Holiday. HTH.

Wanted to test the Young's Chip Shop Fish & Chips (£1 in A) vs M - not because I wanted to 'test' them but because I wanted them and we would use them too - but my A didn't have any stock, so picked the tin of ham instead.

We have the Bank Holiday next week in England and Wales, so the price collection (no idea whether it means Scotland's regional collection is delayed) will be on Tuesday and Wednesday. (N.I. - I know you have Bank Holiday too, but sorry, I'm talking about M collection.)

I was wondering, because they are so close together - let's hope if there are any mistakes in our favour they make them on the Wednesday collection - whether even to bother with going to M on the Tuesday as it perhaps doesn't seem much use. On the other hand, it will mean, as I expect not much, if anything, will change between Tuesday and Wednesday, that the 'groundwork' is done on the Tuesday and then not much to change when I check on Wednesday.

Wondering what the consensus is (if indeed there is any) - whether a lack of information on Tuesday and only getting it on Wednesday (back to the (good?) old days:rotfl:) would affect much.

That said, I'm currently inclined to go to the two local Ms on Tuesday and then, I think I might have a day out, because I feel like it, I might go and travel out to one of the M stores where know A's agency has done price collections, on the Wednesday, and also have a day out at the same time, might also be better as the security guard at my local store would be let a-slip and won't start wondering why I walking up every aisle in the store and not buying anything:rotfl:. I might also bump into the price collectors and observe an insight into how they collect the data which might - or might not - prove useful in other contexts shall we say?!?:D:rotfl::rotfl:

Not sure I'll manage to cover a second store, on the day if travelling out to a 'price collection' store. But, as it is a price collection store...:);)

Shall we say - the price collection store (or what is believed to be) is also 'in a nicer area to where I live' and I wouldn't be thinking of travelling out to such a place if it were not. It'll be a one-off 'adventure'.:):rotfl::rotfl:

Foolhardy, strange and weird maybe. But, why not give it a go this once (it's not too far out for me to travel)? I'm sure I'll have a nice day, hopefully in the sunshine, before and afterwards. And I bet the poor collectors will be there all day, seven hours, whilst I'll have finished and memorised (or attempted to:eek:) everything I need within an hour and a half:D. Bearing in mind that they literally have to collect everything grocery-item-wise, or are supposed to, whereas I don't literally have to scan with barcode scanner or whatever every item including all the expensive ones about which I am not really caring!

An hour and a half. That's about the average it's now taking me. (That was pretty good going on Monday!:T) And, unless there are loads of doubtful items/prices, about half an hour quick check in the second store. A couple of hours total. I remember when, years ago, we did weekly shopping and our weekly shop often took us a couple of hours to do!!:rotfl::rotfl: This M price collecting - it's quicker!:rotfl::huh::j Cos it won't be an hour and a half with the travel - but that's by the bye and also that's for the day out, so being 'done anyway'.

See you later folks - goodbye for now!!:):)

    T (or Sainsbobs) vs A:

    Dri Pak Soda Crystals (1Kg)
    T/S £1.00 A 69p.

Noticed this in my A earlier, when I was getting the Bin "Buddy".

I've now gone and added the Air Wicks that I've found on Msm for A to the M list. I had not forgotten what my M stores had on Wednesday! Sorry that I could not get this information onto here before, due to the other diversions we've had. I've not added the Blackberry Fig and the Lavender Candles, that are £3.98 in M, as the Lavender version appears to work out better vs Sains. (£3.98 A vs £2.00 S) at the moment.

There we are - not 6am but about two and a half hours short!:D:D:j Seven:eek: posts in a row:eek::eek:, but all useful information that I've been working on tonight! I'm off to bed very soon. Good morning to one and all!:)

i agree as well if we are not willing to take an occasional hit we should not be doing glitchy shops as we all know its a gamble and its not fair to take it out on the shop just because it does not work,,

I can't afford glitchy shops to go badly wrong which is why I only have one pack of chicken and one yogurt. Very happy with that and would have got another pair if I could have gone to Sada yesteday morning.
I would be so  if I had got caught out with more than one pack of expensive chicken. Not so exciting but leaves me feeling much more content!

:rotfl:How can you take it out on the shop as well, for it going 'wrong' and them actually making the comparison correctly?

Oops, I'm still here:eek:. See you later! (Again maybe:o.)
