1 x ASDA Smartprice Cooking Bacon (500g)£0.75£0.80
Vs T
Looks like I'm taking them off the M list (compares to M 81p). It's drawn my attention to a change in the A price however.
Confirmation that these are picking up M 50p each price (although also picking up A mbuy, as expected):
2 x Kingsmill Pancakes (6)£1.00£1.00
Chocolate Fudge Brownie is another Frijj milkshake to avoid vs M (and avoid Avs elsewhere too).
Vs T:
2 x ASDA Desiree Potatoes (2.5Kg)£4.00£4.00:rotfl:
Though I have news on some potatoes, although a different type, shortly.0 -

So do we have any theories on what went wrong with the APG machine? It couldn't be a simple data entry problem (75p instead of £7.50 for example) given the way it worked across multis and multiple products. It therefore seemed to be a data error on the processing logic rather than data entry?
A shame it has been corrected, but always worth thinking through what happened so that we can be ready for the next time.
Anon
It's not so much "corrected" (they didn't go and edit the Monday data, rather they uploaded a completely new Wednesday collection), and instead they probably picked up the mbuys correctly on Wednesday (those that they have picked up anyway, that we don't know until we see results showing them). Probably, as in who knows, there may still be glitches somewhere on this new (now current) collection.
I had a thought earlier about the errors on the all-too-shortlived Monday price collection. This has, in hindsight, proved to be an experience that will be of use if a similar thing happens again, for example in helping predict how long (or not) we have next time.
My thought was about the fact that this happened on a day when there were a lot of price changes in M, including mbuys that were no longer on and a lot of new mbuy offers - perhaps they just got fed up and decided to put everything into the Batchelor's 4 for £2 offer lol:rotfl:! And also into the 2 for £1.50 yogs offer.
It helped me remember that, quite a long time ago now, but I think I mentioned it at the time, we had quite a glitchy M pricing dataset - though I don't think it was as glitchy as Monday's was - I seem to have the month of October in my mind for some reason - perhaps it was last October or maybe not? - anyway - there were a lot of price changes on that day too and I recall people mentioning here that 'perhaps that confused them [the price collectors]'.
Folks, can you remind me next time - I hope like an elephant never forget - because I'm sure I will - if I ever come back here from M moaning about how there is so much to change and appearing to struggle a bit (I wasn't actually but there was a lot to change) - just remind me that this probably means we are now set for an APG price collection glitch! (Who said I couldn't deal with change?!? Actually, I deal with these changes very well and I think mostly they are the motivation to doing the thing in the first place!:rotfl:)
Monday was quite a day. People will recall that, on Sunday night, I got quite "excited" about what might change. Little did I know then about how much would. When I actually got to, and was in, M I wasn't excited - instead, there were quite a lot of price changes to remember and I had quite a job on my hands! I was then here with lots of crossed out items, more new items than 'normal' (in a price change week as well - I don't mean one or two items changing but expiry date of quite a few offers, which, actually, Monday wasn't that much of - it wasn't as if a set of expiry dates had come up generally but there were a lot of new and different mbuys to take care of). When I finished it (as much as I did), I even felt I needed a day of rest!
If this happens again - just remind me maybe the APG collectors have struggled and at the same time this ought to alert you to be looking for glitches:D.
I mentioned in my previous post just now that I'd had my attention drawn to a price change by a womble. I told you earlier about my "struggling" to keep up with A and T prices on the M list. Occasionally it's wombles that inform me of price changes in Mr A and then go and amend them on the list. In fact this tends to happen more than me finding they have changed on msm. I do have a struggle with the A5da prices on the M list. In order to update those completely, I would have to go through every item on the list and check every one of them on msm, which is so time-consuming that's it's impossible. (So the updating of the A/T prices is a bit piecemeal.) Word of mouth usually informs me of changes or somehow I become aware of them some other way, without checking every single item on msm all the time. It's not like the M prices - I can just pop into M and find those no problem:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
I don't know - if people want to do this task, maybe a single person could take one section each and check the prices of the items on msm? One person (excluding me on this occasion:rotfl:) for each 'shelf' maybe. If you notice changes, do let me know. TIA.
Finally, the glitches were short-lived but, one thing is nearly certain - if it had been me taking those prices, you'd never have had any glitches at all!:rotfl::rotfl: So, thankfully, I don't do the actual APG collections and the instore collections do have their upsides occasionally as well as their drawbacks.
Btw, my original post - I've just added the first paragraph to the top - but then decided the post answers Anon's post very well so I've added the quote from Anon at the top.0
