I only own a winter duvet too
If it gets hot in the summer I just tend to sleep on top of it and the kids are much happier sleeping with fleece blankets instead
My heating usually comes back on in October, I don't think I could keep it off until December
Think I managed heating off til last week in November last year and turned it off when half term week in February was over
I have an electric fire in living room and don't use it . Its noisy and runs away with electric
Worst thing council ever did taking old gas fire out and putting electric one in  used to love my gas fire on in winter0 -
