You'll never know that unless you try. The first process is the cost of a recorded delivery letter, the second is £60-70 for the court fee. I'd consider that a worthwhile investment to possibly get £1500 back.
He certainly has some money, because you gave him £1,500 for doing next to nothing.
An LBA often prompts people into paying up because it indicates that you are serious. Ttexting/phoning is futile with such people.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

That's a question really but it was what a court official told me only recently.
If the court finds against the defendant or they don't offer a defence and judgement is obtained by default, then that is the point at which they have a CCJ against them.
Whether they pay or not is another matter. Attempting to obtain the money from a non payer is called enforcement and can be done by the court bailiffs or, for a further fee, by High Court Enforcement Officers.
