npower increase, surely not possible?

Hi all, newbie to this sort of thing. We've been paying £62 monthly for leccy for about a year now and have just recieved a letter from npower saying the new direct debit will be going up to £195 from this month. The account balance dated december 2006 was £381 and the next balance dated march 2007 was £792. Surely it can't just be winter usage pushing the bill up? Confused and worried.

Rik.

I suspect this is because your Dec 2006 bill was based on an underestimated reading.

    Even in winter it is unlikely that you used £597 in a quarter. (£792-£381 = £411 + 3 x £62.)
