Barclays have 'Acknowledged' my claim

Hi all

Firstly apologies if i should have entered this under one of the existing threads but wasnt sure on which one to!

Ive just checked the status of the claim i filed on money claim which was issued on 29th June and its now showing as acknowledged on the 13th July - they had until the 18th July. I understand they now get another 14 days to file thier defence . .

Whats puzzling me now though is that i recieved a letter from them a few days ago (Actually on the day they acknowledged - July 13th) offering 660 of the 1100ish im claiming in settlement as a 'good will gesture' . - The letter however i recieved on July 13th is dated June 5th??! - and in the letter they say that if i dont accept the offer within 8weeks of the date of the letter they will deem the case closed?! 8 weeks works out a little close to comfort to the day they now have to enter their defence? - are they being very clever here or am i worrying about nothing?

I havent contacted them since recieving this offer or returned the acceptance slip as i want all my money back and not this partial offer ..

What should i do?!

Thanks to all

James:confused:

    hi james.

They have a total of 28 days from the "served" date to enter the defence. I wouldn't panic at this stage. Just check back on MCOL at 28 days and see what they've done. We've just gone beyond the 28 days with barclays and they have failed to enter a defence, this is after they acknowledged the claim within the 14 day timescale.
  • jus been having a look and since i started this claim business with them theyve charged me 4 more 'unauthorised' borrowing fees of 30pounds . . how should i go about retrieving these? should i wait until my first claim is over and start a new one?

still havent heard anything other than the acknowledgment to my claim....
