4 possible mortgage providers - any tips?

I am very satisfied by how the mortgage process went for me with first direct(HSBC). It was all done and dusted in under 2 weeks and I found then extremely easy to deal with.

However, I am not sure anyone's individual opinion is that useful to you. Your experience could easily be different even if you used the same company because we will of course have different circumstances which would impact greatly on the speed and complexity of the process.Also, even in a good company you will always have people less than efficient than others.

My case was very simple - already had a mortgage with them so though I was moving and wanted a different rate so therefore completely new mortgage they already knew a lot about me which I am sure speeds things up. I have no other credit commitments and secure employment. If I had anything less than simple I would go straight to broker as they are much better at knowing lenders and the differences between them.

That's down to human error. Not lenders mistakes.
