Yeah was looking on gum tree as you say great deals, but after looking I thoughtsurely there is a grant to get them for free...it's crazy they all make you have them install it....only reason I wouldn't go that route is cuz I want a few rolls under floor boards where there a bits missing...thanks for the help0 -
I am fairly sure that you will not get it for free without them installing it. I don't think it has ever been given away for free, it was almost free, a very small charge, at one time but not any more.
The best you can hope for is finding some for cheap as spare rolls etc and you pick them up.0 -

yeah suppose free was a bit of ambitious like you mention i remember there was things awhile back a couple of quid a roll.....shame they dont do that anymore....thanks0 -
You can get loft insulation installed for free if your postcode is covered by the CSCO scheme, which has nothing to do with benefits you receive unlike the myriad of other schemes.
Why hunt around for the odd mismatched free roll when you can get it all for free and installed. Plus a free EPC to boot.
That is of course you live in a poor area that is covered by CSCO, like me.0 -
We took up the British gas offer on the last house ,we had to pay £50 towards it but considering it was fitted it was a super bargain. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I have some rolls that I purchased which I have not yet installed. I had someone call about free insulation and take a look and they told me that they might be able to sell the rolls for me if they did the insulation. So you see, they don't want other people's rolls or any insulation, they want to do a complete job or nothing. I would not of got what I paid for them from wickes.
If he already has insulation then they will probably either tell him he does not have enough and give him hassle about having storage like I got from them or say that they cannot do it because they won't get their payment for not doing a total insulation fitting. They will not be hassled with anything but a complete insulation job. I don't think they get paid fully unless it can be shown to be done to a certain standard.0
