searching for relative (possibly deceased)

hi i have no idea where to start with this. i have only a name and an age (no date of birth). i don't really want them to be aware i'm searching either until i'm ready. any ideas how i go about this? ive put the name into search engines but not found anything. any advice greatly appreciated.

    Hi Diesel

    I have access to Ancestry BMD Indexes. If it's likely your person has died and you have an age for them it would be fairly straightforward to search for a likely death record then apply for a death certificate to give their last residence.

    If they are still living I could at least give you the likely reference to apply for a birth certificate - it might help with locations to search. PM me with the name and I'll see if I can help.
