Default still on credit report 5 years after DRO. Should it be??

I did a DRO in August 2009, and I've recently signed up to Experian to keep tabs on my credit report.
I've noticed that there is still a default on my report for a debt that was included in my DRO.
I've contacted Barclaycard to dispute this as according to them the default was taken out in October 2009, 2 months after I did the DRO.
They've since amended the report so that the default date is now August 2009.
It's my understanding that this account shouldn't be defaulting at all now as it was all part of the DRO. I presumed that doing a DRO meant that any debt included shouldn't be classed as a seperate default. Every other debt, bar 1, I had included doesn't show up on my report at all now.
Am I correct in assuming that it should be classed as 'settled'/'satisfactory' now?
I still have to wait another year to go back to having an 'excellent' score, but as it stands this default is what's keeping me from having a 'good' report rather than 'fair'.

An account included in a DRO remains a default. It should just be updated to be a satisfied (partially or not) default, that is all. So the default part remains.

The whole account, default and all, will be removed from your report in August 2015 regardless.

  • That's what I thought. It still gets a red flag each month for non payment. I thought once I did the DRO that it shouldn't be getting red flagged at all as it should be satisfied through doing the DRO.
When I log in it always says I have two negative factors, one being that I have an account that is defaulted/deliquent.
The other account has done what you said in that it was defaulted, but now says satisfied.

If it it isn't marked as satisfied or partially satisfied as of your DRO end date, then complain.

The DRO on file is the worst thing though, so honestly it may not make much difference.

  • I will, and thanks for the template.

I know it won't make much difference to my score due to the DRO, but I at least want it all to be correct. To be honest I'm surprised that my score is bordering 'Good'. I thought it would be 'Poor' for the 6 year duration.

    Thanks for your quick response.
