Aldi Parking Fine

Hi,

Just looking for some advice. Visited Aldi on 02/08/14 to pick up a few bits, paid for the shopping and input the Reg No. of the car, unfortunatly I stupidly put the Reg of our 2nd car so have received a £40 fine today. Should I just suck it up and pay it due to my error or should I give them a call and tell them to check the records for the Reg of the car I put in??

Thanks

THERE, FIXED YOUR POST AS YOU USED THE F WORD IN THE HEADER AND THE POST

now you need to read the newbies thread at the top and appeal it using the template letter, adding a point D to say that THE DRIVER put in the wrong VRN and to check their records again, giving the VRN they are looking for as proof that they tried to comply, asking them to cancel the pcn invoice

    do not ring them up

    do not pay

    appeal

Thanks Redx, slight problem as I think the wife may be on the phone to them as I can't get hold of her (I'm stuck at work) them to explain my error. Will this affect any appeal??

not a good idea but I would appeal anyway in the manner I stated before

I have never heard of anyone sorting out matters like these "over the phone"

get it done in writing, where there is a paper trail and proof

Also complain to ALDI - they have a reasonable record of getting PCN's cancelled for genuine customers

Thanks both. I've sent Aldi a PM on Facebook explaining what a donut I was by putting the wrong reg number in.

Looks like the wife has phoned them and they told her to put it in writing along with a copy of the receipt. Will it matter that we don't have the reciept anymore??

    mmmm, always a problem

I would do as I said earlier and appeal it, mentioning both reg nu,bers and asking them to check their anpr records , mention you are still looking for the receipt and will forward a copy of it if its found

I've just got off the phone from Aldi and I have explained the error. They have taken all the details of what the Reg should have and will be passing it onto Parking Eye and told me to expect a call from Parking Eye by the middle of next week and I should hold off appealing (I won't hold my breath and will still appeal). I have noticed I can appeal on the Parking Eye website, is it worth doing it this way?? Or just for over kill fill in the online appeal and still put the appeal in writing or is this just overkill??

Sorry for all the noob questions and thanks for all of your help

Yep I wouldn't wait - I would appeal online too.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
