plug on toaster

Our toaster kept tripping the electric a couple of days ago so we unplugged it to look at at a later date. I went to switch the fuse thinking easy job. How do you get the fuse out the plug. The plug does not seem to have any screws. I can see the fuse through a hole but tried carefully poking something in the hole to pop that bit of plastic covering it out but its not happening. Is there a knack or simply technique i don't know about. Or should i just complain to m and s toaster is probably about a year old .

Why are you messing about with the fuse - has the fuse blown? Does the toaster trip the electric in any other socket?0

The first thing you should do is to determine why the toaster is tripping the fuse. It may be dangerously faulty.
Don't mess around with electricity unless you know what you are doing.
Only if and when you have resolved the problem should you worry about the fuse.
Don't poke in the hole.
The fuse is probably held in a fuse holder.
Use a small screwdriver and insert it into the gap at either side of the fuse holder and lever it up and out.0 -
