Buymobiles and three?

I've found a great deal with buymobiles for an iPhone 5s. Only thing is the internet data is only 500mb. I wanted to know as buymobiles are a third party can I still add internet onto the plan through three? Three are being shirty and saying no and buymobiles are saying yes I can as you are allowed to upgrade a contract but not downgrade. Can anyone advise with this?

OH has had his last three contracts through them, one on O2, one T-Mob and the latest is with EE, he has been able to amend his contract as needed with all three.
With the first one he added a text bolt on (from 100 a month to 1000 a month) on the second he added a data bolt on (100mb to 1gb) and with his most recent one he lowered the tariff as he doesn't need unlimited texts or minutes but wanted to keep the unlimited data.0 -
What do you get with the deal? People might be able to advise you if there are cheaper ones elsewhere first.0

It's iPhone 5s with all you can eat minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb of data for £28 a month0

Ok so does anyone know the cost to upgrade the internet with three they are being so vague about it because I'm not ordering through them. Told me all they offer is the signal and that's it!0

I had a similar question when I bought from mobilephonesdirect last year, but on O2. Don't have a definitive answer but consider:
1. buymobiles etc are just middlemen - they're not like Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U (IIUC) that bill you, you just pay the network directly.
2. If you're a Three customer and buymobiles will have no interest or involvement after setting up the contract I'd err on the side of Three's advice, albeit they'd probably prefer you to buy direct from them which may influence that advice. Maybe contact 3 customer support posing as someone who has already bought the contract and now wants to upgrade?
3. O2 have data bolt-ons. [STRIKE]I can't find anything equivalent on 3's website so it would be a contract upgrade.[/STRIKE] Actually, look here: http://www.three.co.uk/Three_price_guide and look at the contract price guide - there are data addons to contracts on a short-term or long-term basis but they're linked to what your original allowance is (e.g. on a 500mb contract you can only buy 500mb more if I'm reading it right).

It's not easy is it!
I'd say on a 500mb contract you could buy:
One off:
+500mb (£5)
+1.5gb (500mb+1gb) (£10 total)
+AYCE (500mb+1gb+AYCE) (£15 total)
Rolling monthly:
+500mb (£3)
+1.5gb (500mb+1gb) (£6 total)
+AYCE (500mb+1gb+AYCE) (£9 total)0
