    Thanks for all the responses.

I am devastated to say, she died on Monday. I don't think her body could handle the sedation and the vet gave her a double dose as they claim one dose wasn't enough to calm her down. Unfortunately I think the double dose just pushed her over the edge.

She was fine when she came home but went downhill over the weekend. I called the vets as I was concerned but they told me it was normal after sedation (vomiting, not wanting food, etc). She perked up a little on Sunday but we were woken at 6am by her falling about and she had lost the use of her legs, it was utterly heartbreaking.

We rushed her to the emergency vets but she died in my arms five minutes before we arrived.

I have barely stopped crying over the last couple of days and I have now approached the vets asking for answers as I really just want to know what happened to her.

Only comfort I get is that she isn't in pain anymore with her back legs and we were with her until the very end.

    Oh no. :(

I'm so sorry to hear this. It is terrible to lose a kitty so suddenly. I hope you are able to find some answers; but like you say, you were with her until the end and you did your best to keep her comfortable in her twilight years.

She was lucky to have you. xxxx

Bast, Sekhmet, we give you back your child.
    Noble, regal, honourable cat.
Watch over her, and guide her on her way
    to the spirit world.
May she be blessed in your names,
and hunt ever after beside you.
