Making new friends

Hi, sorry if I'm not allowed to post this here, but I've been a member of this forum for a few years now and have seen over the years various threads about people being lonely or struggling to make new friends. I've always had a small close circle of friends (but wanted more), but recently I've found that we now have different interests. So in my attempts to make some new friends (by meeting new people) I've set up a meet up group to do just this.

I know that there has been posts on this forum around wanting to make new friends, so thought this might also help some people here, so if anyone is looking to make new friends in and around the Liverpool area, the webpage is http://www.meetup.com/late-20s-30s-wirral-liverpool-looking-to-have-fun, the age is not prescriptive, I just had to come up with something and wasn't feeling terribly creative at the time! & I'm nearly 31 so was thinking it would help give an eye of age range! In MSE style it is currently a free meet up group (as I know some do charge), and I'd love to see people set up some cheap/free events - maybe picnics in the park etc!

If on the other hand, you aren't from my area and are still looking to meet new people, I would recommend checking out meetup as there will probably be other groups in your area.

I've love to have new members as it means people are more likely to make new friends! If anyone can assist with any friendship sites etc I can make it known to reach out to others, that would also be great, thanks! I hope I haven't posted anything I shouldn't and would love to welcome some of you as new members to meet up with if anyone here is looking to make some new friends. Thanks!

Lots of people have spoken about meet up on the boards. I run a meet up group myself. Not sure how many people from your area you'll find on this section of the boards though.

There is already a 'meet-up' group in Liverpool isn't there ?
I'm sure they meet somewhere around the Seel St area.
