M&S credit card - good or bad for credit rating?

I heard it is a good idea to register for a credit card to improve your credit rating. I have never had one before and didn't know which to choose. I read the moneysavingexpert guide and chose the m&s credit card but am worried that was a mistake. I can't cancel it now but do you think it's a good choice for improving my credit rating? I've never been in debt and will always pay the card off in full. I am concerned it will have a negative impact on my credit rating as they are not a major bank and maybe I should have chosen a barclaycard instead. Does anyone have an opinion?

Thanks

You've done the right thing (provided you can manage your finances)

    Don't exceed your credit limit.
    Don't miss any payments.
If you intend to settle the balance due in full each month then set up a direct debit to ensure you don't miss the deadline.

There's no difference between a barclaycard and the m&s card. Any future lenders won't be able to see who the card is with from your credit file. That information is available on your credit file for you personally but lenders will not be able to see who the card is with.

M&S is a good one as for every £1 you spend you get 1p in M&S vouchers. As long as its paid off it can make a good savings bonus for shopping. ATM if you go through mse you get a £30 wine voucher.
