Amazon instant video confusing adverts?

Options
I recently signed up to Amazon prime instant video because I was fed up with Netflix. I was impressed by the relatively large and varied choice of movies and tv shows advertised by Amazon on the website BUT You are not told that many of the most popular and recent shows and films are not included in the Prime package , you have to pay extra for them. Imagine watching two seasons of your fave show only to find out that you have to pay extra to watch season 3. It's not explained on the site, well I couldn't find it.

This feels a bit shoddy on the part of Amazon I feel duped and annoyed that this is OT made clear prior to signing up for the service.
Amazon have not responded to any of my emails asking for help. I had to find out from a neighbour who had the same complaint. Ok perhaps I'm being dense and everyone else worked this out or found the info on the Amazon site. But this does not excuse the poor customer service.

  • As Prime offers a free 30 day trial period, can't you simply cancel as you are not happy with the service?
  • I could cancel but it would be fairer if they were up front with the limitations of the offer from the outset. This is not the free trial I've paid my subscription and realised the problem after signing up to its not just a case of me not being "happy" with the situation and cancelling.. The advertising does not make the situation clear and it is almost impossible to get any response or clarification from Amazon. I was hoping to inform anyone else thinking of signing up to the service, so that they would not be caught out as I was. This is the vent & warnings forum.
  • There are so many shows it suspect it would be a bit difficult for amazon to list. Over the last weekend, myself and the wife was watching 'The Matrix', we got tired so we went to bed and on saturday we found that the movie was no longer a prime movie!

  • That must've been really annoying,I hope you were able to cotinue watching without being chaged extra,

All TV seasons that you need to pay for are listed as such.

I have subscribed to both Netflix and Amazon and find they both compliment each other very well.

If Netflix doesn't have a certain season then you need to wait for them to add it to their listing. Where as if Amazon doesn't list it as Prime then at least you can pay to watch it and finish the season.
