UPDATE - I have referred this to the Complaints section at EDF as suggested by Hengus above.
In the meantime Customer Services came back and offered to reduce this months payment on the 28th in lieu of a refund. Guess I will accept that however it is not the best outcome which would be an immediate refund of the £45 and pay the normal amount, as planned, on the 28th. I'll see what the complaints department have to say.

I have just left EDF to go to First Utility,EDF are the pits when dealing with their customers, that's the reason I left, when I transferred to FU,they said I owed them money(Which I did not) and this held up the switching process, sneaky thing to do,as it meant I was with them longer,AVOID EDF at all costs,if you join them, you will regret it at some point.

Actually if you look at reviews of energy companies they are all pretty dire. Just that E.On and EDF are best for customer service of the big six and all the smaller ones are terrible. I was very satisfied with E.On; its just that this time they just couldn't offer me anything that wasn't at least £150 dearer than EDF, strange.
