Hello,
I am inserting a small clip-art image in a document, but keep getting an unwanted line printing beneath said image. It is in cartoon form and stands alone.
This underline does NOT show until Print Preview and printed sheet.
HOW DO I GET RID OF IT PLEASE?
I have wasted much paper and ink already trying possible solutions as suggested for similar situations in the Microsoft Help Index.
So far, I cannot find a form of words for the problem which then gives a successful solution.
This has to be done by tomorrow for the Charity I volunteer for - ANY help would be much appreciated.

Hmmm, not sure. Try clicking the icon to Show/Hide formatting marks - there might be some hidden formatting causing the problem. Also press Alt+F9 to show field codes and see if anything is revealed. Press Alt+F9 again to hide them.
Install Foxit Reader, which will allow you to 'print' the document to a PDF file and therefore avoid wasting paper and ink whilst you troubleshoot the problem.0 -
Thankyou Chippy_Minton- unfortunately I don't understand this bit:
'Try clicking the icon to Show/Hide formatting marks Try clicking the icon to Show/Hide formatting marks.'
Do you mean me to click the image I wish to insert?
I've never heard of field codes.
For me, I was doing quite well - the document is a price list in landscape format.
I've headed it, inserted the image below. Next comes the 2nd part , a two column list which I had to print separately, leaving enough gap at the top for the title and image.
Couldn't make things work any other way, as the columns affect the whole page.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

No, an icon on the Word toolbar, shown here circled in blue - http://www.salem.k12.va.us/staff/spreston/7thweb/images/showhide.jpgThankyou Chippy_Minton- unfortunately I don't understand this bit:

Insert a section break (continuous) to allow new formatting after the columns. In Word click Insert - Break... Continuous (section break types), or maybe a Column break. The Word help explains the different break types.Couldn't make things work any other way, as the columns affect the whole page.0 -
Thankyou again Chippy_Minton, eventually finished just before your further help and just did a page for the heading x 3, which I'm cutting and pasting onto the column page. All will be laminated, so...CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
