Hi all
im on esa cb assessment have been now for over 6 months.
I have just been awarded enhanced rate pip on both. I called esa to enquire about premiums to be told that I don't qualify as im on cb.
can you asked to be moved on to ib?
I have no savings and am in probably the same situation as many others on ib but they get the premium. The extra money would be very usefull especially as I see no end of the tunnell soon on esa being sorted.
any advice or opinions welcome
thanks

You can't asked to be moved to IR. You can receive both CB and IR if you meet the criteria for IR.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked

You need to ask to be assessed for income based ESA.
All household income is taken into account so have you a partner? Are they working? Any savings? Pensions? Second homes/capital?
Please tell us more about your household income and we may be able to help as to whether you would be eligible.

also, does anyone claim carers allowance for looking after you?0

Hi I live alone an no one claims carers for me.
I am on contribution esa though. Is it still possible to receive premiums?
Thanks0 -
I have no other income or savings0

Contribution based ESA does not have premiums added to it.
You need to be assessed for income related ESA based on low income/savings. You will continue to receive contribution based ESA but income based ESA as well
Then your premiums will be added.
Ring and ask for this assessment.

I am facing a similar issue at the moment and was hoping for a little bit of clarification. Do you receive the payment as part CB and part IB? Or receive the payment as CB but still get the housing benefit rules as if you were on IB? :eek:0 -

Any amount of IR ESA triggers full entitlement.
This is simply as you've been assessed as being eligible for X funding a week due to low income and insufficient savings.
If you have enough capital and income, you won't be entitled to any ESA-IR.0
