opening overseas bank account in UK

Does anyone know if I can open a NZ bank account in the UK, as I'm relocating to NZ for a year and wish to transfer my funds directly. Cheers!

National Bank of NZ is a subsidiary of Lloyds TSB and there is also HSBC NZ, it may be worth enquiring at the local branches of these banks to see if you could arrange things that way.

Lloyds Tsb sold National Bank of New Zealand last year, although as far as I know they still use the Black Horse logo.
Best bet is to see if you can get a London telephone number or address for someone like the National Bank to see what requirements are needed to open an account.

Thanks for the correction Eric, my info was obtained from the net and is obviously out of date.

I did see a link today somewhere though for hsbcoffshore.com where they were offering just what benny needs I think. It must be worth a look.
