ParkingEye PCN

Hello all, I would like some advice on what to do with a PCN I received from Parking Eye.
It was issued for the Tower Retail Car park in Crayford, I was there for 4hrs 40 minutes when apparently the max free stay was 3 hours. I went to nandos for a meal with friends and was there for that long due the very long waiting time.
I was parked in one space and then later moved my car closer to the restaurant during the time I was waiting.
I would like to know what is the best course of action, ignore or appeal because I am not looking to pay as I was a customer at a free car park for a restaurant there.
Many thanks in advance!

As ever, this is covered in the sticky thread at the top of this parking forum - which is why I wrote it. Sadly, last year it got silly as we could not keep up with all the ''help I have got a private parking ticket, what do I do?'' threads so I wrote a sticky thread BEGGING newbies to 'read these FAQS first'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
