Advice please on Online repair company

Hello all and thanks for any help .

Last month we sent our Tablet to RepairsUk.co.uk . The tablet had a broken charger port .
To break down a long story :
*Sent Tablet off special delivery
*Using their websites live chat i checked if they had recived it as they had not changed the status of our order .
* I recieved a reply saying they would look into it .20 mins later no reply
* Tried again 2 times over three days and finaly got a reply of " its in the testing area .
* I said let me know when its repaired and ill pay over phone , the guy Damion said its been fixed . So i paid over using debit card bank transfer .
* It then took me 3 days ( though over a weekend ) to get a reply if they had recieved the payment .
* They said it would be back tuesday . Tuesday came and went .
* Again this time using their facebook page i left another msg saying what was going on . To my surprise many others on their page had posted simular problems .
* After leaving a post complaining i finaly got a reply saying it would be at end of that week .
* Again leaving Saturday free i waited all day but nothing .
* sigh Again i left 3 live chat msgs with no reply and one facebook msg complaining about another day waisted . I also noticed their facebook page had deleted all the complaints from people and left the one good comment .
* After getting a msg saying they were looking into it and not recieving any news i sent msg saying i wanted the tracking number they recieved when they sent item . They acted very shady saying they would find it then logging off and not coming back on .
* Then i get a msg saying they were sorry but they had sent the tablet to the wrong address . I said to them the tablet has all our passwords and prob credit details on . The reply i got was " Isnt it locked " ? . . They said not to worry as it was sent to a company they deal with and they were sending it back . Be with us friday !!.
* Well thursday is here so i sent msg to see if they had recieved it back from the company again no reply .

I have made a invoice for cost of tablet ( not what it cost me but what you can get it for now) and the refund of repair cost and delivery charge they recieved . Should i send it if nothing comes friday . Is there anything else i can do ? . Many many thanks

I'd send a letter before action giving them a further 7 days to either return your tablet, or pay the sum of £X which is the cost of replacing the tablet (not the price of a new one if you've had it a while!), and the refund of the repair.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Thanks . Would we be able to charge them for days i could have been earning instead of waiting in on the days they said it would arrive ? .

Would that not be classed as betterment if they received the price of a new tablet AND a refund of the repair as they started with a broken tablet and therefore they will be getting a new tablet for free.

I am not sure if it is the case.. just thought I would throw that in.

Not sure .Friday came and went another day wasted waiting . Spoke to them and they said sending it today be with us monday and they sent a email telling us of this. I received no email. They have removed the abiltiy to comment on there facebook page and removed all complaints again. . Also found a website called trust reviews i think and there are few people in same boat as i am . https://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/repairsuk.co.uk

You seem to be saying that you have already sent a letter before action.

If so, then prepare yourself for the next stage, if they don't comply, by reading MSE's Small Claims Court guide.

It is the case. Can only claim losses that are a direct result of the breach. OP would've paid for the repair had the breach not occurred so that "loss" isnt a result of the breach.
