Did the broker not run through their affordability checker?

They did yeah and as I said it was borderline affordable after counting single person council tax discount etc.

I however paid off my credit cards from my saving the previous 2 months so I was a bit paranoid about it showing up on the statement

I've just gone through an application with Woolwich and from what I understand, if you pass the affordability at the beginning, as long as all the credit checks match up nicely and the information submitted regards to earnings etc tallies, then there's no need for concern.

As I stated earlier in this thread. This change will affect cases that have not been full submitted before the end of today.

Can I ask how you know about this? I called my broker and be had no knowledge of any changes and no messages from Woolwich to this effect
  • The affordability changes are on the news section of the barclays/ woolwich intermediaries website.

  • I'm beginning to understand how frustrating it is to deal with the Barclays call centre.

My MA at Barclays is now on holiday for two weeks so I am left to chase it up myself. I was told to call up on Tuesday as it was going to final review. I called up today to be told there was a query about service change and ground rent. We ended up in a circular conversation where neither one of us understood the others accent. I ended up having to call up again to check that I'd gotten the correct info.

It's a worry that every time I call up, there has been something outstanding on the file. I'm wondering if my MA actually chased anything up in the last few weeks :-/

My online tracker hasn't been updated since July either.

    it's a painful process....
  • Ok, If I get told it will be going to offer within the next 48 hours, I'm going to smash something up..... arrrrgggh.

    That's 6 times I've told that now...
