Credit file/electrol role DOB wrong

Please can anyone advise? My Son who is 22 has been trying to get a contract mobile and is having great difficulty. After lot's of trying to find out why we find that Equifax have under his electrol role details his DOB as 1/3/1992, he was in fact born 29/02/1992.
We contacted equifax by e-mail and spoke to them on the phone and they said we need to speak to the city council....the city council say they do not supply DOB info to the agencies....we are just going round and round in circles!!!!! Any suggestions on how we can get this resolved?:(

Go back to Equifax and refer them to section 5 in their own policy document on management of personal data. It is for Equifax to sort the problem.

Thank you for that I will do:T. Also contacted the ICO who said to email a copy of his birth certificate to Equifax and if they still don't change the information they will act on his behalf...hope this will get this sorted.
