Spent an hour going through this pretty uninspiring sale. However I selected two items, which of course had disappeared from the basket by the time I came to pay. Plus ca change with M&S.

They seem to have lost their way recently; poor choice of clothing, website is colourless and cluttered, local stores closed down in a very hard nosed way, and their numerous sales smack of desperation.

Mand S website is diabolical.Total contrast to John Lewis,so easy to navigate theirs and see the stock levels as well.

Hmmmm, is anyone else having issues with the site?
I tried looking under bags and accessories which was showing around 200 items, once selected it only shows 67 items...same with every category I've checked- lingerie showed only 8 of the 350 odd items! In addition to which many of the items listed are actually not in the sale but just on offers such as the 3 for 2 offer and so on.

    I'll stick to ebay!

VERY good stuff in the Plymouth store! The place was heaving today and most stuff seemed to be 50% off. I got some lovely Autograph bits :D

I wonder just what the store is going through, we're hearing so many negative stories and yes, the website is dire a lot of the time. The Outlet floor in our local store is closing in a couple of weeks after being open for many years too.

I braved M&S on Oxford Street and the Marble Arch store, nearly got manhandled in Per Una as there was a riot over the reduced blouses.

I ended up buying 6 pairs of the 3for2 knickers which were reduced from £6 to £3.50, and was charged for all six pairs. When I got home and went online to buy some other reduced 3for2 in another style the website did the 3for2 offer. Does anyone know whether I should have been charged for 4 pairs in store when I bought 6, or whether that was a boo-boo on the website? Does the 3for2 offer still hold when they are reduced? Is it worth going back and asking (and trying to not buy anything else).

M&S is yesterday's store. Handy for the toilets, but that's about all it's good for.

Poor customer service, dowdy clothes, variable quality but invariably and reliably overpriced.

Such a shame that poor and short-term management over many years has reduced it to this whilst competitors such as John Lewis have gone from strength to strength.

yes i use the loos and the cafe with my cafe vouchers they kindly sent me with bank account.

also buy bras at end of sale when a pound or two!

I also think it ridiculous the mannequins are anorexic size 6's and the customers all look like me so obviously none of the clothes look nice on real people!! also it puts me off going in seeing four size 6 foot tall mannequins at the door!
