Barclaycard cancellation - customer loyalty

Hi guys,
just thought I'd post about my recent experience with Barclaycard;
I currently have the Freedom Reward Card, I rang up on the 11th to cancel - so naturally I was transferred to cancellation department.
I spoke to a representative who was very polite and offered me 0% on purchases for 12 months (which I didn't think much of). I also expressed interest in the cashback card (Visa/AMEX) - he agreed to transfer me over to this and wished me a lovely day - job done!
I rang up this morning as I intend to make a large purchase so could do with the 0% - I rang up wanting to confirm that, the 0% was still in place. They had no knowledge of the 0%, but they transferred me to the customer loyalty department and they applied it - apologised about me having to ring up again and wished me a pleasant day.
So now I intend to make the large purchase with 0% and get some cashback for the trouble - I never got the £50 credit which seems to be the standard but I find that for me, this resolution suits me better.

It might be one or the other - You opted for a cash-back card, now you've changed your mind and asked for the 0% on purchases.0

You misunderstand me. I haven't changed my mind; I was told I would receive the cashback as well as the 0%. In regards to the £50 I was merely stating that that seemed to be the norm. I wasn't expecting the £50.
It was an "instead of" scenario.0 -
Well I have read your post more than once - it is not clear to me what you agreed to.
Seems you want jam on top.0
