Do I try and reclaim the costs now or sort debts first?

OK, the answer is probably yes do it now, but....
I just want some advice that relates to my situation. I am self employed, and have been since sept 2005. I constantly live in my overdraft and have done for the last 6 or 7 years (god... is it that long!) and have gone over my overdraft limit a few times incurring fines due to my clients paying invoices late etc etc the usual self employed problems.
I have a fairly large overdraft (2.2k), credit cards and a loan, so my situation isn't great. I'm not sinking, but I get the feeling I am about to start sinking quickly if I don't do something soon.
So, back to the point, a parachute account is mentioned, but getting an account with the same amount of overdraft is going to be tricky. So should I work on reducing my debts first before claiming.... or try and claim to help clear some of my debts?
I'll be seeking help in other forums for the getting out of debt, just been thinking about this claim thing for a while so thought it was time I gave it some attention.
