returning a PS4

Purchased a playstation 4 in November 2013, it has now broken through no fault of my own and will not turn on. Been in touch with Sony support to try and rectify this and they have suggested send it in for free repair. It currently has a game stuck in it and I can't get this out due to it not switching on.
Instead of waiting 3-4 weeks for it to be repaired and returned by Sony am I able to return it to game store where I bought it and get it swapped there and then for a new one?
Also would they replace the game that is stuck inside it, I assume they would send the whole thing back and claim a refund for the playstation and the game??
Thanks for your hell PPP

You can return it to the store, but what they do to it will be up to them. At this stage, their RTM period (name changes with stores, but it's the period where they can return it to the manufacturer for a refund) has passed, so what they will do is send it to sony. Who in turn will return it to the store in 3 to 4 weeks for you to collect.
Sony may remove the game, and they will also transfer your save data over if possible (at least they used to).
The store, if it does an exchange, will not.0 -
Okay thank you maybe a better idea to send the console to Sony then. My saved data should all be stored in the cloud so should be easily accessible. Will contact Sony tomorrow thanks.0
