MBNA charged me PPI despite selecting no PPI

I applied for MBNA credit card and selected no for PPI. Six years later MBNA changed terms in July 2006 and charged PPI after luring me to balance transfer funds from another card. After a second balance transfer they charged something called posted credit insurance fees. Which rise and fall as the balance is diminished. Finally they charge credit insurance plan coverage in May 2008.
Contacted MBNA and they don't know what these are either.
Does anyone here know or heard of these fees before? Are they PPI and if so have I grounds for a refund since I said I didn't need PPI having sufficient funds to make repayments if required.
